For over the past year I have had the most wonderful experience teaching teen photography workshops at the middle school and junior high. Although I spent the last 10 years teaching elementary school kids art, it never involved teaching my true love of photography until last year. Now, some of my great students have requested a more personal, in depth, and technical class then what I can dive into at the schools. So, announcing my first teen photography workshop. The goal of the 4 week class is to understand exposure and how to control the F-Stop, shutter speed & ISO to create fun and emotional portraits. Each week students will create a different style portrait using the weekly challenge and exposure focus. Most of the workshops will be help at my studio with one field trip week to Park City main street. Teens will need provide their own DSLR camera & memory card. (No cell phone cameras or point and shoot cameras)
Week 1 - March 15 - camera function and exposure understanding- depth of field- Glitter & Confetti Shoot tryptic
Week 2- March 22 - understanding shutter speed, fast and slow exposures - fun with twinkle lights & LED's
Week 3- March 29- composition & zooming - changing exposure quickly- field trip to Park City main street- found name portraits
Week 4- April 5- bringing emotion to portraits- understanding angels of the face- personality panels
This class is perfect for the teen who wants to create better photographs of people and understand how cameras work. Students will be photographing each other every week to create fun portraits that help them to understand how cameras create exposure. Class size will be limited to 4-5 students in order to provide maximum guidance, teaching and friendship experiences. Call or message me ASAP to reserve your students spot.

Kelly Moynahan - Hi! Someone shared your Teen Photography workshop info. My daughter Meghan is only 11, but in 6th grade. She would love to do this workshop, but we do have some other conflicts. Would like to chat further about the workshop or future offerings.
