14 weeks to GRADUATION...14 WEEKS! I counted on Monday that I have 14 weeks until my son graduates high school. Where did the last 18 years go? It's actually been really fun now that the end is so close. Someone told me a couple years ago that the difference in your kids maturity from the beginning of senior year to the end is like night and day. Wiser words could not have been spoken! There has been a cosmic shift that finally feels like all the hard work might actually have paid off. As nostalgic as I will be in the next 14 weeks, I am equally super excited for my kid to take flight.
It's time to start making those final preparation to celebrate the end of this huge milestone. When it comes to senior portraits here's a check list to make sure you get it all done in enough time to actually enjoy the final days. I am here to make your life easier by taking out the stress or emotion of ONE MORE THING to do. I promise to make is easy and fun for everyone.
FIRST- Create your portraits! Just in case you haven't had your senior session yet now is the time to do it. Trust me, as someone who has NO SENIOR PORTRAITS, I regret that my only photographic evidence of senior year is my yearbook photo. Yearbook photos don't cut it anymore, we have advanced as a civilization and we need more personality and originality then a cookie cutter cheesy photo. There are still so many great locations to show off your senior style, give me a call and we can figure it out together.
SECOND- Graduation announcements! One of the best innovations in the last 15 years has been the ability to turn your great portraits into personal announcements. Custom created grad announcement truly make your senior year feel like it's coming to a close. You get to choose 1. size of card 2. images on the card 3. words on the card and I'll custom design your card that truly gets you excited to mail out or give to friends. It's so easy!
THIRD- Portraits to leave behind! As you head out into the great big world you need to leave a legacy on the wall of your home so Mom & Dad can look at your face everyday. The truth is, you will be missed, more than you can know! So get that portrait hanging on the wall ASAP so that the day you leave for college, career, or travel your parents can stare at it and cry tears of joy and remember the great accomplishment that you are.
FOURTH- Create a senior book! High school isn't the end of your story, it's just the end of the first book in the trilogy of your life. I have both books and albums that will tell the story of your senior portraits and the great person you have become. A portrait tells a thousand words and a portrait book shows the whole journey. Creating a photo book is a gift to your future self and your future off spring to prove that you where once cool and survived high school too.
Creating Will's senior portraits has been a highlight of my whole year. I can't reveal them yet because we have 1 more portion to photograph. (When you're the photographers kid it takes 4 sessions to capture your senior year.) But I will treasure the time we spent capturing his style and smiles. Honestly, I have tears right now because we have had some good laughs and tender moments, just he and I, making some magical portraits. This is a gift for me, his mother, not just for him.
So if you still need senior portraits reach out ASAP. You, your parents and your future off spring will thank me later for making you do it.
Below is my stunning niece! I figure since I can't show Will - I'll show his gorgeous cousin who is also a senior. She lives in the red rock country and I loved every minute of photographing her and telling her story. Call me and we'll figure out how to tell your story.
